Why Am I so Tired?
If you feel drained, foggy, overwhelmed, wired at night, exhausted during the day, or unable to bounce back from stress the way you used to, your body may be stuck in survival mode. It’s not because you aren’t “enough”.
Why Am I so Tired?
If stress has left you drained, foggy, overwhelmed, or unable to bounce back — it’s not just “being tired.” It may be adrenal dysregulation affecting your cortisol rhythm, energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, and resilience.
A Holistic Approach to Adrenal Dysfunction

Find the Root Cause
Fatigue is rarely caused by one thing. I look at the deeper patterns behind your exhaustion — stress load, hormone changes, sleep, GI tract dysfunction and lifestyle demands.

Restore Balance
Using targeted personalized supplementation and realistic lifestyle strategies, you and I help your body rebuild resilience instead of forcing it to push harder.

Reclaim your Vitality
As your system begins to heal, you notice steadier energy, clearer thinking, better sleep, improved mood, and the ability to show up for your life again. New habits form without thinking about it.

Dr. Mayfield is a very experienced and exceptional holistic health practitioner. I did research before choosing her and found that her practice uses natural products. When I first came to her my metabolism and hormones were so very bad. I had no energy and could not sleep since having a hysterectomy plus gaining weight. Since seeing Dr. Mayfield I can sleep without sleep pills, I have energy to do things with my grandkids. I have lowered my blood pressure and cholesterol. My knees have hurt me for the last 5 years to the point that I was having to consider surgery but with having the vitamins that my body was wanting my knees have become stronger and not hurting. I’m able to ride bikes with my grand daughter. If you are ready to change your life of feeling better and healthier then you need to see Dr. Robin Mayfield.

The fatigue was so overwhelming that I had to quit the PhD program I had worked so hard to get into, and I became estranged from my friends and family because I never had the energy to do anything. I had begun to feel hopeless about ever feeling good again. After starting the supplements I began to see a rapid change in my energy level. I am now able to lead a far more normal life than before.

How Do You Test For Adrenal Fatigue?
Yes, I still refer to it as “Adrenal Fatigue”. Chiropractors and Naturopaths identified Adrenal Fatigue over 80 years ago, though the medical community has only recently started acknowledging that the adrenal gland is vital to health in many ways.
Though Dr. Interweb will try to convince you that “high cortisol” is your problem and causing all of your symptoms, it’s not that simplistic. See that list of symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue above? You can make a video about adrenal fatigue with almost any symptom, because the adrenals are involved in so many actions in the body. It’s a tiny organ with a big job.
By the way, a single morning blood serum cortisol test does not show the full picture and gives you no diagnostic information.
Cortisol follows a daily rhythm, so you need to track how it changes throughout the day — morning, midday, afternoon, and evening. This helps me see whether your body is struggling to activate, calm down, recover, or maintain steady energy.
It may be too high at night when you should be winding down. It may be too low in the morning when you need energy. Or your pattern may be flat, leaving you feeling like you are dragging yourself through the day. It can rise through the night and keep you awake. One morning blood test doesn’t give you all this information.
This is why you can feel exhausted and wired at the same time.
I will also look beyond cortisol to evaluate related systems such as thyroid function, hormones, blood sugar balance, inflammation, digestion, nutrient status, and lifestyle stressors.

The Art of Healing
Adrenal problems often happen when we fail to nurture ourselves sufficiently.
Are you ignoring personal boundaries and giving up too much of your time and emotions to others?
Are you feeling shame or guilt about taking time to rest?
Are you disassociating your emotions and taxing your energy constantly by suppressing something traumatic that needs to be resolved?

The Science of Healing
Your HPA axis — the communication system between your brain and adrenal glands — helps regulate cortisol, energy, inflammation, sleep-wake cycles, blood pressure, blood sugar, and immune response.
When this system becomes dysregulated, symptoms can show up across the whole body.
I feel like I’m walking out of a fog. When I wake up in the morning, it feels like I WANT to start doing things again. I am not lying in bed dreading the thought of getting up and making myself get started. I actually feel like starting the day.

Dr. Mayfield has been using her expertise and years of experience to test and balance my hormones and adrenals naturally. She uses relatively non-invasive hormone testing and adrenal testing and walks you through natural hormone balancing options using supplements, dietary alterations and lifestyle changes. The real part that I believe sets Dr. Mayfield apart from other practitioners who might provide similar holistic services is her follow-up. She will email/call to ensure you are following the set treatment protocol and provide additional support if needed. Her understanding of how to implement these lifestyle changes is key. She genuinely cares about her patients’ success and takes the time for everyone.
